Best Rooftop Parties in NYC

When the weather starts to warm up, there’s nothing more thrilling than sipping a cold cocktail atop one of the city’s non-douchey rooftop bars. Leisurely drinking with gorgeous skyline views is one way to have a great time, but during those summer nights when you really need to get your groove on, it’s nice to ditch Gotham’s typical places to dance for a venue where you can throw your hands up and touch the stars (okay, not literally). Head to some of the hottest clubs in NYC, where the roof is always on fire. These are the best rooftop parties in NYC.

Rooftop Party Saturday

Hudson Terrace is known to go all out at its rooftop parties, with frills like fire-breathers and laser tag. At this dance fest, the major perk is a one-hour open bar (10 to 11pm) and, of course, the pretty waterfront views. Throw on your best duds, and turn up early to guzzle enough free booze to elicit the liquid courage that’ll help you tear up both dance floors. Make sure to check the joint’s website and Eventbrite for future parties happening every week this summer.

Hudson Terrace, 621 W 46th Street (212-315-9400, Sat June 25, 10pm-4am. Free with RSVP.

Our Wicked Lady rooftop parties

Grungy-cool folks flock to this Bushwick haunt for its 1,300-square-foot rooftop (and the all-you-can-eat, bottomless brunch for $10), but a big part of the allure is that the joint hosts monthly music showcases at which buzzy, local bands, like Surf Rock is Dead, Weekender and Raccoon Fighter on Saturday 25, come to shred onstage. Check out the joint’s free Rooftop Double Feature every Tuesday through September called Two-Movie Tuesday (there will be free grub donated based on the theme). We’re also excited for SH-BOOM, a monthly, sexy 1960-inspired rock n’ roll party. Sip a cold one while throwing your hands up in the open air, and you’ll never feel more alive.

Our Wicked Lady, 153 Morgan Avenue ( Sat June 25th, 7pm. $5 advance, $7 at the door.
